History

On Feb. 6, 1971, Alan Shepard became the first and only person to play golf anywhere other than Earth.
Shepard set about smuggling the head of a 6-iron on the Apollo 14 mission by covering it with a sock. He connected it to the shaft of rock collecting equipment, before launching two golf balls from the lunar surface into the starry sky. Shepard shanked his first ball, but proudly estimated that his next two balls went for “miles and miles and miles”.
Rumour has it that the three balls remain on the surface. If only he were using our Lunar LED balls we could see them from Earth!
